I’ve tried to start writing dozens of times it and always comes back to the now. The virus. My dad is in his 80s. My kid is 4. My in-laws are all over 60 and have underlying conditions. This is strange.

Either of the previous countries I’ve lived in I trust to handle the current pandemic more than I trust the current administration. As scary as the current president is the competence of the vice president is more so. This is the kind of situation in which people can grab and hold onto power. Especially those convinced they are doing the right thing.
