We’ve been in Denmark for a few weeks now. DH’s schedule is much like that of a government job in the States. Unfortunately, at forty-five minutes his commute is very American as well. The apartment hotel the relocation company chose for us is in Islands Brygge, between the water and a massive park. The area is going to be fabulous in another five to ten years. I can tell because of the construction. Buildings are going up behind, next to, and in front of us.

The hubs just took Lil Bit out to the small playground next door so I could have some me time. He’s good that way. Hopefully they’ll stay out there at least half an hour, though it’s February and awfully chilly for playing outside. At night. Since moving here I have seen so many dawns and dusks due to the fact that the days are so short and the nights so long. I haven’t seen any sunrises or or sunsets, though. Cloudy hazy days so far.

What I would really like to be doing right now is taking a long, hot, relaxing, soak in a bathtub. Unfortunately our luxe, monochrome, two bedroom apartment has no bathtub. The bathroom is certainly big enough for one. No tub, even in the rare large bathroom, is apparently common in Denmark. I’m too new here to have met anyone to ask why this is and my Googlefu has failed me on this one. Mostly the hits consist of expat blogs bemoaning the lack bathtubs and fashion home trends about Scandinavian style- which invariably feature fabulous bathtubs.
